Along with amateur radio and scanning, another one of my hobbies is cycling. One of the "rules" of cycling says that "while the minimum number of bikes one should own is three, the correct number is N+1, where N is the number of bikes currently owned." I believe that this rule can also apply to radios, where the "correct" number is R+1, where R is the number of radios owned.

Of course, this equation may also be re-written as S-1, where S is the number of scanners/radios owned that would result in separation from your partner.

Went to my Rat Shack this afternoon to inquire. They don't have any and when they tried to look it up, they only found the "website" only SKU. I checked this thread and found the receipt that was posted--yea. I called them and gave them the different SKU and they found it. None in my region, but they can bring them in from another at the listed price. Their computer is showing nearly $250. They do give 10% military discounts (didn't know that until I saw it on the posted receipt). I'm going to try to price match with the posted receipt in a few days when they come in. So keep posting (the whole) receipt so we all can bask in glory as well.

I found another store kinda close to me. I will be checking with them as soon as I get time to go by there. I did look online and they do show a few different unidens and RS digital scanners in stock. but of corse the prices showed online is the full price. I hope to get by there in the next couple days.

How did you find them on line? When I search I don't see any way to find them at a store.

I found one 3 weeks ago at a store about 2 hours drive, after she told me it was $239.00 I told her I wanted it but I would have to wait a few days to get up there. She told me to contact my local store and get them to request it transferred here free of charge which I did. I kept waiting for them to let me know it was here, so I called the manager today and said it's been here two weeks we did not have your contact information, I told him I would pick it up up after work today. Just left there after it rang up for $99.00 plus tax!!!

Default Uniden radios on sale at RadioShack

I would love to see the homepatrol drop in price. Over the last 3 weeks I have accumulated a nice collection.

I don't get their pricing. Do different stores have different prices? I'm calling around and I am finding BCD996XTs in stock on clearance, but prices are either $350 or $262. What gives? I figured they would have the same prices nationwide...

I haven't really shopped at Radio Shack for years, but in the past, clearance prices were all dictated by corporate, and were the same nationwide.
