It definately blows anything else out there out of the water for simulcast reception. My BCD-436HP you had to hold it in a special spot in the room to hear a 700Mhz trunked system. The SDS-100 you can walk, run, drive and it decodes fine.

I agree that it is better with simulcast than the 436 but not better than "anything"....

For LSM, the Unication has it beat. For features, multiple bands, display, etc etc then Uniden comes out on top.

No.

FYI: Whistler has announced it is developing IQ scanners, to deal with LSM. Their projected release date is the 4th quarter of this year.

Comparing it side by side to both a 436 and a 536 the SDS100 blows them both away.

IMHO it hears analog as well as the older models. But the p25 simulcast reception is unbelievable. With yagis and pre-amps I am hearing P25 systems up to 100 miles away. Systems that do not even show on the 436 and 536 receivers decode perfectly on the SDS100.

I like the improved display, the crispness of the audio, and the Ignore NAC feature.

I have been in it since the crystal days. IMHO the SDS100 and it's SDR architecture is a game changer.

The price is tough. But the radio is actually worth it.
