BC346XT choppy noise

I've noticed a TREMENDOUS amount of interference on my again radio lately. Sometimes I get the interference when the back-light is on and I shut it off an stops. Same thing the other way too, the back-light is off, turn it on and it stops, and of course sometimes the back-light has no affect on the noise. It sounds like a very fast choppy sound and is primarily in the 25-54MHz region. This happens to the radio when both on the power cord or with just batteries in it.

If there are times when the backlight has no effect on the noise, then that rules it out as a possible source for the noise.

Does the noise go away if you remove the antenna?

What happens when you move the unit to a different location?

Like Jon ask does the problem go away if you go outside the house?
Possible Causes.
1. Wireless router?
2. New LED home lighting?
3. Anything new in the house? Now just about everything in the house is wifi connected.
4. Do the lights blink when the AC kicks on? Have an Electrician Check for loose connections.
