Default Issues getting Garmin GPS18x GPS to work with SDS 100

I am using a Garmin GPS18x PC with my SDS 100. The GPS is powered with a cigarette lighter type plug and also has a female DB9 connector. I am using a DB9 to P/S 2 adapter between the GPS and the Uniden cable required for the SDS 100. With everything hooked up and powered, I can't get "GPS" to show on the display. I have the baud rate set to 4800 in the scanner, location control on, and the system enabled. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tim
