Default Advice on getting scanner.

Can anyone give me some advice on a good scanner that will receive starcom transmissions? Not sure exactly what's available. Uniden, Radio Shack? Any help would be great!
Thanks!

It helps if you give the users your location, state, county, city and what system you want to listen to, a link if possible.

Since you mention Starcom and your callsign I know it's IL. I would have to say your best bet would be one of the GRE scanners the PSR-500 or 600. There have been complaints about the way the Unidens seem to handle Starcom in some areas. Your best bet is asking in the IL regional forum and see what they recommend. http://www.radioreference.com/forums...splay.php?f=41
