I'v been using a dynex DX-ubdb9 converter to plug the scanner into the pc but It's not working on my 64 bit laptop. I dunno why exactly... But, maybe there is a usb cable out now? Right now I have the original one that came with the bcd396t which is a male E style on the pc end.

Also, been a while since I updated firmware and I will need to register the scanner again. No idea how to load this esn stuff... and I can't until I can get it to connect to the pc...

UPDATE
It appears vista 64 does not allow unsigned drivers... Dynex does not digitally sign their drivers... SO unless some one can help me get a hack to disable that security function, I AM SOL!
Guess I'll have to use a different computer! Whoopty frikin dooo!

I'm having the same difficulty this person is having. Whenever I find a link to the drivers, instead of getting an install option I only get an uninstal option.

If there is not a way to get around this... I will have to find an E male to E female connection as thats all this laptop has... BOGUS!

To allow unsigned drivers, F8 during starup and select the option to turn off the unsigned driver
check. This is not a persistent setting from one reboot to the next.

Which chipset does that cable use? If it is the PL-2303, then the signed Vista 64 drivers for the USB-1 cable will work (and you can download that from the Uniden download area).

http://www.uniden.com/my/downloads.cfm?product=USB-1
(you need to log in before this link will work)

If it is the FTDI chipset, then get the Vista 64 signed drivers at:
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm

If it is some other chipset, check the chipset manufacturer's site (but the above two should comprise the majority of such cables).

UPDATE: I looked at the Dynex drivers...they use PL-2303. Use the Uniden Vista driver.
