Default BC210XLT with low audio out

Hello,

Have a BC210XLT that I am using to support the feed I have here in Radio Reference. The drawback to it is, it only has the ext speaker port on it and to get any kind of audio out of it, with a ext speaker attached or using the internal one, you have to have it cranked way up full blast to hear it.

Is there something in the audio circut that could be the problem? Or the volume control itself? If someone could point me in the right direction or have a schematic of this unit, it would be greatly appreciated. As I have finally gotten a computer dedicated to the live feed for here, now I want to get the audio back up to snuff when I was using another scanner that I have now placed in my bedroom and put the BC on the stream.

Thanks
