Default Other uses of the Argent HP-1/PC18x combo.

It may have been addrerssed, but seaching has not found the answer to these question?:

CAN the Argent HP-1 combo be used directly (for example) on the front USB ports on the BCT15 and/or BC996T for FRONT-PLUG GPS input?- Or will it "blow up" ;-) - Is there an adaptor from the hp-1 PLUG to standard 9-pin that mates with the rear socket.

ALSO: Is here sufficent compatability or function in the Argent HP-1 combo output to be used for APRS devices (Ham) assuming connector matching can be bought or fabricated?

reason: I just bought the Argent Hp-1 combo and will only need to use it on trips, which I rarely take except 1-2 times/year.

Yes, the same GPS cabling and data that works with the side connector on HP1 will work on the front connectors on the 15, 996 and even 396 scanners, PROVIDED the baud rate is correctly matching the GPS source.
