Anybody know where I can find one online? I want to modify the tape out jack to get rid of that annoying thump and make it live all the time.

Somewhere in this room. Right now, you're very col
No, that's the owner's manual. What ve3nsv wants is the detailed schematics and repair manual the Uniden techs have.

Good luck. Probably the only poster on this forum with access to one of these service manuals would be UPMan, and I doubt very seriously that his employer would look very kindly on him sharing it with us. ;) I suppose if you're feeling really froggy, you could just open 'er up and trace the circuit back from the tape jack so you can see where to bypass the software on/off setting and splice in whatever component(s) will wipe out that thump. I'm brave, but not that brave - I don't have another 5 bills laying around that I can replace the scanner with if I fry it. :D

Maybe Upman can convince the Uniden Engineer team to modify the firmware to allow the Tape out to be live all the time for people who stream or remotely control their scanners.

Paging doctor Upman......

Hi Guys,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but its not gonna happen. Service manauls will not be available for scanner owners since the late 90's.

This is a bit dated but hasn't changed . Read about it here:

I found a place that has a photo copy of the service manual I need . Just deciding if the 30 dollars is worth it. Bearcat 8500xlt
