I've been listening to the UCAN Engineers the past few days and tonight two of them were talking about having everything in place to, "...bring Beaver online this Thursday." They also were talking about shuttling equipment to the Site because the ski lift was not operating. I know there is a small skiing area east of Beaver, but I don't recall the name or if it has a lift. It isn't Brian Head that I'm thinking about, either.

Anyway, are any of you aware of a new UCAN Site going up or ready to come online in Beaver County? Nothing indicated in the Database, of course.

Elk Meadows is the resort on Beaver Mtn.

But I have been hearing things that make me think it is Beaver Mtn Resort.. North of Logan area.
Also other names like "China", "Medicine", "Butte".
They also aligned some microwaves the other day and talked about being the one ridge west of the wind mills.

Now that you mention it, I have heard them mentioning those same places. I'm not familiar with the Logan area so I don't know. When they mentioned Beaver, I immediately thought it was down south.

Where is China, anyway?

They have been working hot and heavy on Beaver Mountain - about 20 miles up Logan Canyon and at the Beaver Ski lodge. It is supposed to be an IR site. May be on but I can't hear it yet in my low location.

They have also been working very hard on Mt Pisgah (near Mantua adjacent to 89/91) as a 3rd transcieve location for the Cache Simo. Not 100% sure but I think they call it China for some reason.

Also hoping to get Hurd or Herd on which is somewhere up Ogden Canyon. Laketown is also slated for very soon, and Red Spur also.
Busy guys up here in N Utah!
Also EOC 2 TG active with a few of the Logan PD 911 guys helping up shuttle material etc.

I've heard the UCAN Techs refer to Pisgah as Pisgah. After looking at the pdf link you posted I believe that it is a site that borders both Utah and Wyoming since both states are sharing the spectrum as the pdf states. Laketown and I believe Rec Spur cover Rich County. Elizabeth Mountain I believe is in or covering Summit County (there is a USFS repeater there) so China is a mystery.
One thing to note, There is a Chinese Peak near Pocatello that Idaho has a repeater for their ICAWIN 700 Mhz system. I highly doubt that this is the same one however. Utah/Wyoming topographical map anyone?
