Is the Gre 300 a good scanner for he salt lake front area I have a 500 but looking for a less expensive one for a family member

All Scanners made by GRE are quality units with good upgrades when they are needed.
The GRE300 is non-digital, which means you can not receive the WVC Bravo channels or the Midvale C2C Channels. It will not receive Hill AFB, Bannock County Idaho, or Wyoming.
It is a good inexpensive scanner for this area, and we have lots of people who can help.

I have played with the 300 and own a 500.
Personally I feel that the 500 has a better menu system and additional features that make it far superior to the 300. There are more differences then just digital and not digital...
