I'll check the frequencies tomorrow, going to the zoo......not sure how to check tones, none are listed in the fcc database for them.

FCC will never list tones, they license Frequencies.

Depending on your make/model they generally will have a tone search

I went to the zoo and searched all the listed frequencies and got nothing. I did notice that most of the workers had frs/gmrs radios on channel 21 but I could not see the privacy tone.

What make/model ? radio ?

Many of the newer "M" look like GMRS and do display a Channel # and Code, but are NOT FRS nor GMRS
