Default American Forces Network

Caught this at 1113UTC on 10320KHz USB! They were feeding NPR news at the time. Broadcasting for our Navy out in the waters from Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Definately puttin this one into memory

Yeah thanks Bryan-that's actually where I got the info on location and who they transmit to I'm going to check out those other freqs to see if I can get them too.

Armed Forces Radio comes in fairly good at night time, here in Richmond VA, on 5446.5 kHz USB. Although it is upper sideband, the AFN broadcasts sound even better when you widen the selectivity (e.g. switch over to the 4.0 kHz filter).

Good to know Larry. I think I only have the 2.5 and 15 filters-but I.ll give it a try

Yeah AFN will televise a lot of big sporting events over USB. I didn't check last year but a couple of years ago I caught them transmitting the Super Bowl overseas.

0242UTC on 7811KHZ-USB, AFR transmitting from I think Key West, Fl. CNN Radio being broadcast now
