I admit I have no clue the diff between the three-but I do monitor 11175 and 8992 every day just because I can Would an "emergency action message be when the base goes "all stations all stations this is Andrews-message to follow" then she will sound off a series of phonetics and numbers, then "I repeat" then same again? If so,I heard that Friday AM at around 10:30.

Default 11.175 6/27/09

I have heard several on 11.175 last night on east coast as well as alot of stations calling and " standing by for traffic " I have not heard the "standing by for traffic" type of call since MacDill went off the air back in the early 90's. also alot of testing between the various global stations has been going on as well similar to what it sounded like just after 9/11. it all sounds like the same operator just bringing up different transmitter sites.

I havent heard a thing here today where I would hear 3-4 calls an hour. What gives? EDIT-I take it back-I just heard "Riot gun" at 10:55AM PST. What is Riot gun? (I know what a "riot gun" is)

I have no clue where this transmission hailed from. Anyone?

Default Sudden activity

It is 20:07 Z on Sunday. The thread caught my attention this morning, so I thought I would turn on and see if I could catch anything.

In the last half hour or so, I've heard 3 EAMs (just now hearing another), one from 'vagabond'; the other from Andrews for 'zulu force'.

This last one is from vagabond. After completion, stating, "this is vagabond, standing by for traffic".
BTW- listening on 11.175 mhz

Cool

Riot Gun was just on 11175khz at 1453 PDT. He had some funky noise coming thru his transmitter too. Might be a portable (man pack) operation..?

Just curious, do you guys also monitor 4724 & 6739 at night time? Normally I hear EAMs there. Although I can't say I have the past few days, but then again I mainly listen to trans-Atlantic flights more than I do the military stuff.

Yes I have in the past. I rarely hear any EAMs down on those freqs at night though. A lot of test transmissions from Hickam AFB - radio checks - usually in the wee hours of the morning.

You may catch some activity every now and then but it has been fairly dead around these parts for the past few months.

PS. At night, I generally monitor 4125khz (USCG) and 2182 (Marine Emerg) and 2670 (USCG Aux)

Hmm I couldn't make it out in your video(s) but it sounds like engine noise... or a bad generator.

I personally think it's a blower or the like in the radio room where he's at.

Not sure, maybe Spanish.

BTW, continuous traffic on 11.175 tonight. The guy reading this stuff has to be hating life right now. I think he went on for around 15 minutes straight at one point.

Wirelessly posted (LGE-VX9100/1.0 UP.Browser/6.2.3.2 (GUI) MMP/2.0)

I heard a male and female voice on RIOTGUN on Saturday....I think the callsigns are changing daily.....tonight 2 stations keep sending 46 character msgs....one is AUGUSTINE and the other sounds like ARTSHOW or ARCHO. AUGUSTINE sounds to be in some type of radio room because I heard background voice and radios.

Now SIDESTEP just popped up...waiting for traffic.

I heard those as well as riotgun earlier tonight too.

GHFS-6 8.992 seems to be coming in better here with simulcast traffic of 11.175.
