...one or the other guy's radio was slightly off freq-I had one perfectly tuned in then the other would be off.

Sounds like it's from just off the California/Oregon coastline - out to about 100 miles (is 126W longitude.)

How'd you get to that? I was thinking I wished I knew the location.
