I monitored this strange broadcast on 8189. Sounds like an automated repeating numbers (?). The signal wasn't very strong compared to others. I think it was coming from the Asia region. Any ideas? Audio: HDSDR_20110306_101618Z_8189kHz_AF.mp3

Yeah it sounds like Thai or Vietnamese. Very interesting. I'd post it up on UDXF and see what they say.

Are you sure about the time on the file name? The reasons I ask is that SK01 is pretty active in that time slot (1000 UTC) on 8186 kHz and I hear no sign of interference. Of course it could have been a day SK01 was not up, but jsut wondering.

And by the way, it does sound like a numbers format, I will be watching the freq with interest.

Yep the time was correct on the filename. It was after 2 in the morning here. Tried again the past 2 mornings but have not heard anything else.

Hearing it again.Yesterday on 7821 and 8263, and just 5 mins ago I caught it on 11186. All in USB mode.
Here is an audio clip from yesterday: HDSDR_20110427_132224Z_7821kHz_AF.mp3

I don't know for sure if this is a numbers station, new Chinese robot or what... But find it pretty interesting nevertheless.
Especially now that it has been showing up on different freqs.

That also Chinese 4-figure on 7821. I'll bet it's military based on the fact that the speaker is male and he is sending pretty fast.

Sounds the way my Mandarin professor pronounces syllables hand in hand with the phonetic tones symbolized by ^ \ / --- . They're codes disguised as trash talk..
