Thanks Gene, but you read me wrong. I'm looking for info on a separate time pip underneath the WWV signal.

Not WWV, male voice and WWVH is female, not CW. 15MHz is an international frequency with 6 stations on it, BPM in China uses CWID and not all are on the air 24 hours. Unless you catch an ID it could be anything.

Wow, I did read wrong, sorry.. I've used the 15MHz signal several times and have never heard a secondary signal.. I'd say multipath, but if one has CW and one does not..well, that's just weird..

Nah-no biggy this was a 1 minute transmission and I heard someone else catch it once and logged it as from China or Russia. I have been searching like crazy today and cannot bring up an answer. Still hoping someone here knows.

Looks like Warren agrees with that idea... (He was leaving his message as I left mine)

My first guess would be BPM China since you're on the west coast, BUT it could be RWM Russia on 9996khz. JJY Japan has been off the air for a few years now, and I've never heard Argentina nor India. BSF Taiwan? Never even heard of them! :^)

How the hell did I miss your post ?? That's what I thought, and maybe I was catching it just as it signed off on the half hour.

hey ridge
I bet you heard BPM. I've logged it from time to time as well.
Here is what it sounds like if you wanted to compare.

Recorded from my QTH

BPM only (10 MHz)

WWVH, WWV and BPM on 15 MHz

Hey B-I heard the identical pips on WWV's half second hit-that's the one. I bet it's China as their BCs start booming in here around that time. Maybe you were the one I meant-oh well..losing the memory a little Thanks B
