Vertex vx-2200 mobile radio. I plug my new external speaker in the headphone jack on the back of the radio and the internal speakers cuts off. How can I get the internal speakers to stay on when the external speaker is plugged in. Thanks

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9780; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.8+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.600 Mobile Safari/534.8+)

I have been using 2x VX-231 Vhf for work for 2 years-ish. They came with a puny 1050maH Li-ion batteries, but last all day long, even out in -20C weather. For a simple no frills 16 channel radio they are great. I also have a VX-170, ft-277, and a FT-8800. All great radios in there own right. I also have 2x tk-760hg, one of which I use almost daily for work, tk-380, Tk-280, mts-2000 48ch R-split, and a ht-1000 R-split on its way. I have a soft spot for kenwood due to channel capacity. And am really considering replacing the ft-8800 with a tm-v71a, it does things that my 8800 will not do or do it in ways I like better. Although the limited zones, and fixed zone size make this a tough choice.

Conehead The internal speaker is routed thru the external jack, so that when the external speaker is used it disables the internal.

It is NOT recommened that you use both at the same time, but if this is some thing you REALLY think you need, you will have to go into the radio and do a bypass on the jack assambly.
