Default question for vertex ftl 1011h.

i got a ftl 1011h radio for 50 bucks without a mic but come
with a heavy duty wall mount and a speaker branded as Johnson.

my question is:

1. I want to know how to identify band split on this radio.

2. I want to know is it a good deal at the price I pay for?

3. I want to know is it worth it to keep it to play around in the long run as I am a newbie to radio.

thank you for your time.

Well one thing I can tell you is that its a Hi power mobile that puts out 110 watts, so therefore i am assuming that its probably a VHF Low band radio, there are two ways to figure out the band split, use a frequency counter, or a scanner with signal stalker and key the radio, or read the radio with the software.

There is an "A" split 29.7-38 MHz and the "B" split 38-50 MHz but radio has no markings on it
to help you ID it. Methods mentioned before are all there is, unless someone has a service manual
to help ID internal part numbers of the radio.
