Default Vertex 4204 vs vx5500

[I] am in need of replacing a couple of old radios in my truck. Am looking at these 2 radios. Will use them as dash mounts. Any preference of one over another. Thanks.

Default

the 4200 radios have a wider bandsplit than the 5500 radios

I have a VHF and UHF 4200 in my truck.

Default Vertex 4204 vs vx5500

The VX-4204 is also a much newer design. The VX-5500 is over 10 years old (model)
