It is real, YouTube (YT) calls it "monetization." Sign up for it and YT gives you a percentage of the ad revenue for the ads they include with your video. I don't know if it amounts to much, unless the video goes viral and gets popular. The greater the number of hits, the more money that gets paid.

I decided not to mess with it and your mileage may vary... good luck.

Cool. I wonder if they will have the rights to the videos if I decide to get paid? Thanks for the info Net-5 & searingxheretic. I am working on getting more videos done just waiting on some items to come in and my youtube is staugfl1991

Default They are picking up after what

"metacafe" has done for the past 6 years or so. I knew some of the posters on MetaCafe and they did in deed earn some case. YouTube viewers have to put up with the adds at times, but that's not too bad.

You don't get much for each view/click but if you have a lot of videos and post new ones often it adds up. I average about $100-$150 a year or so.

And yes, you retain the rights to your video.

Default Ryan, are you by chance

"Kipkay" on MetaCafe? I ask because he's from the bay area and I gather that you have uploaded there.
