Well, this morning ACFR, CARS, SPVFD, ERVFD, ACPD, Pegasus Helicopter, and a heavy-wrecker rescued a person trapped when a trash-truck rolled-over on a rural county road.

Now CFD is responding to the downtown brick mall for commercial structure fire with flames showing in the lower level of the building.
Edit: Upgraded to a 2-alarm.

Busy day so far, and it's not even noon.

Prayers of safety for all involved.

Local news sites reporting that a "massive" manhunt is underway on the south side, for a man who was being transported to the local jail, but who kicked out the rear window of the cruiser and escaped while the vehicle was moving. The man is a carjacking suspect, a multiple-felon, and considered dangerous, with a history of B+E x6, abduction and kidnapping x2, grand larceny x2, and robbery, etc.. See local news sites for details.

Does anyone know the channels VSP and everyone is using?

Most radio traffic is heard on the "Event" TGs on the Charlottesville/Albemarle TRS, though several others TGs/frequencies are being used. (As usual for an event in progress, I will not specify channel-details for typical safety reasons, and recommend others don't also.)

Update...
...car drove over several people. Critical, moderate, and minor injuries reported. Suspect in custody.

Location
Nowhere near a paved road, away from the maddening
Interesting tie-in on this...

Yesterday afternoon I was listening to [STARS] TACTEAM3 (TGID 43) and was hearing a lot of comm traffic, some of it in the clear, most secure.

Troopers were discussing going to Charlottesville for the weekend, some wishing the whole thing would be rained-out.

Another quipped about the dress-code for the weekend being: Shorts, T-Shirts, but they must be clean-shaven.

At the time, I was unaware of today's planned event(s) in Charlottesville.

Per local news, physical access is very difficult for responders, but fire department personnel located the crash site, and separately identified the locations of two jet-style engines. Plane ID, type, and size are not determined, yet. The fire/rescue responders transferred scene-control to VSP, who is waiting for FAA/NTSB. Information about fatality/souls-on-board has not been confirmed officially.
