It was a New Carrolton-bound train. Fairfax fire arrived and found him under one of the cars. Pronounced him pretty quick, and are turning the scene over to Metro PD now.
Fairfax PD dispatched it as "subject jumped in front of a train"

WEST FALLS CHURCH, Va. - LINK: METRO

Emergency personnel are on the scene at West Falls Church-VT/UVA Metrorail station where a man was fatally struck by a train today, Wednesday, August 12, at 11:18 a.m.

Preliminary reports indicate that a six-car Orange Line train headed in the direction of New Carrollton struck a male customer who was on the tracks intentionally as the train pulled into the station.

Trains are sharing one track through the station to allow train service to pass through the area. This is likely to result in delays of up to 30 minutes in the area of the incident as well as some other delays along the Orange Line until mid-afternoon.

About ago hour ago I heard a call reporting a possible body in Goose Creek. Now hearing all the LCSO investigator units reporting to the scene. The units are going to Perdido Bay Terrace. This is a gated community and a golf course is along the creek and river here. This is the area of Goose Creek just before it flows into the Potomac River.

There is a callout for SWAT in PWC in Dale Forest Apartments. This has been going on since about 1000.
There is 1 male in an apartment near a window with a gun in wasteband. I didn't catch the beginning but it sounded like they were searching the apartment complex.
OPS are on PWC TRS East 1.

1125- SWAT is meeting on a nearby street.

SWAT Continued, earlier the police were watching the suicidale man in an apartment with a gun.

1512- Sounds like its still goin on. Address in 4395 Whitmer Dr. People are being evacuated.

Loudoun started a pursuit of a suspected DUI in Sterling. The supervisor said to terminiate at the county line on Rt7. Fairfax units were right there and picked it up southbound on Faifax Co Parkway. They just hit him with stop sticks south of Baron Cameron and are now boxing him in.

Got him at Sunrise Valley Dr. Hispanic male in a pickup.

Fauquier Co working an escapee from their jail. VSP 1153 has just begun a track. Air support requested from Fairfax, but was denied. Ops on Fauquier TRS and 159.165. Escapee is from Front Royal and may have been aided by a girl friend.

Going to be shutting down parts of PWC parkway. OPS on PWCTRS Fire INC 1

2000- Possibly just food smoke, not fire smoke.
2002- Small fire in walls. Making progress.
2006- Fire knocked down. Clearing about 1/2 the units.

534- 80mph southbound 495 passing 236, requesting helicopter.
537- passing braddock rd speeds 70, just rammed another vsp unit.
538- all lanes blocked 495 south south of braddock. 1 in custody

Stabbing in the Sugarland neighborhood. LCSO is establishing a perimeter for K9. Time lapse is about 15 minutes. Suspect is believed to be a black male in his early 20's, last scene running in the direction of the church. Ops on East channel and 6C.

Sounds like a hostage situation off Mountain Road in Lovettesville that started about 3PM this afternoon. Was at work and didn't hear the initial dispatch. I think I heard it dispatched as a suicidal person, but I wasn't able to focus completely on it. I know I heard a few deputies talking and mentioned the suspect was "prepping the south window", using a flash light on the 1st level, "banging on something" and they heard movement and "rustling around". The Hostage Negotiation van as well as the Command Bus are on scene. Operations on "Sheriff TAC2".

FCPD K-9 is tracking the driver of a stolen vehicle in Chantilly. Prince William Co and VSP had been chasing it on Rt66 and then Rt28. They are in the area of Rt28/Westfields/Willard.

Something is going on in Lorton that they're trying to not talk about on the radio. (Of course the Fairfax feed is having issues at the moment. It was too quiet, and now I've gotten it so it's too loud, but at least understandable. I won't be able to fix it until this evening.) Hearing traffic from both Fire and PD.

UPDATE: I heard that "media is beginning to arrive on scene" so we should know more soon.
