Default tropo ducting...better than usual

just copied Carlisle 6 calling Harrisburg Dispatch for a traffic stop on 80@52 on 154.665. This would be the Penn State Police Ch D which is as we all know, VSP TAC in VA. Copying the Penn tfc better than local stuff.
Gotta luv summer morning humidity.

I had the pleasure of listening to Ulster County, NY dispatch a medical call at the Maverick Concert Hall yesterday. :-)

I was copying some skip across my pager on 33.74 (yes, we're still being dispatched on low band :? ) yesterday morning as well. From the past, it's been Huntingdon & Bedford Counties (PA), but I couldn't confirm it this time.

...and Missouri HP coming in clearly goes w/out sayin...I hear KAA202 almost as often as KIC....uh, what is it again, Taylor?

In other news, my best VHF HiBand catch was an agency bordering Bridgeport CT a coupla years ago...forget the freq, but was around midnight local.

Try THAT with digital.....

From Cape Cod Massachusetts, I've had the pleasure of logging Accomack County, Virginia (WPSJ218) on 155.220 123.0 PL numerous times this summer. Tropo conditions have been very good as of late. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the hobby.

I heard Indiana State Police I believe it was on 42.42 Mhz, Missouri HWY Patrol (KAA202) on 42.38 and possibly Tennessee Highway Patrol on 42.36. I did a low band search on the PRO-96 and Im getting skip on a whole lot of the frequencies. Its kind of interesting listening to the different agencies and trying to figure out who they are.
