People better get a PSR-800 while they can unless Uniden comes out with something soon.

Well I had to get out the old atlas to find out where Pittsylvania County is. Turns out it is the geographically largest county in the Commonwealth and interestingly also publish the county public safety frequencies on the county website. Well as Mike mentions, the cost of scanning in the county is about to increase by 400%. That may be much more effective than encrypting the system (lol).

They have filed a second license application for additional sites around the county.

I understand they are in a hurry since their old system is not narrowbanded. I believe they get an extension from the FCC but they still need to get the new system online soon. Apparently they got a lot of federal money to help them since they have already deployed a lot of dual band phase II capable radios which aren't cheap...
