Stll No Luck with Alexandria or Fairfax County
It has been a couple months since I've listened on my PSR-600, but both Alexandria and Fairfax County have gone quiet on me. I looked at the Alexandria frequencies, and don't see any difference from what I have programmed. (It also seems that the live feed for Alexandria City has little traffic compared to before.) Did I miss a system change, or do I need to keep trying?
Thanks!

Warren - I've been listening to them since the switch to P25 with no issues. I assume you have the correct control frequencies? Listening right now on my 996XT. My ARC software says I've had 100+ hits in the past 24 hours on Fire 2A Dispatch.
Regards.

Thanks - I haven't been able to look into my programming since you answered, but will do so this weekend.

Stll No Luck with Alexandria or Fairfax County
GRE PSR 600
I spent a couple hours yesterday and am back at it again today with no luck. I reset to Factory Default settings and re-entered the frequencies listed in RR for Arlington, Alexandria & Fairfax. I am using Wildcard for the Talkgroup. I am able to receive Arlington, though slightly garbled, but nothing from Alexandria or Fairfax.
Anyone able to assist - or anyone with GRE PSR 500/600 I can replicate?
Thanks-
Warren

I have Fairfax programmed in my PSR600, and it has gone quiet (along with Alexandria). I have verified the control frequencies. Since you have a PSR500, which I understand programs the same as the 600. Are you aware of anything I may have missed in my manual programming, which is now different from a couple months ago?
Thanks,
Warren

Warren, I've moved your posts off the other threads as you are not getting good help because you are hijacking other people's threads. When you need to get help for yourself please create your own thread by clicking New Thread, and not replying to other's existing threads.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8320/4.5.0.81 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)
Warren, check your talk groups. They changed with the upgrade to P25.

Manually tune your 600 to 856.2625 and see if you are getting a solid "T" and good signal strength. If so, seems your system programming is not correct. If not, you need a better antenna. I struggled a long time after the switch over ending up with the antenna, cable, direction being all the problems.
Good Luck

I programmed in 856.2625, but am not seeing the "T" at all. Can you please tell me what antenna /configuration you used to resolve this?

No Luck With Alexandria
I tried all of my antennas including my 2Meter/440 base and a yagi that I built that was tuned to the Primary frequency. I then climbed on my roof for an unobstructed view, and I was still unable to receive City of Alexandria Police/Fire. I am less than 2 miles away. Does any one else have any suggestions, before I give up and sell the (PSR 600) scanner?
(btw I reconfirmed the control frequencies MANY times)

did you try to see if you were missing any firmware or software update. I had the same problem with GRE800 and found i had to update my firmware. also Alex doesn't talk as much as they use to. they communicate through their computer in the Cars.

I am just north of DCA and Alexandria is loud and clear on my 800 so I do not feel that this is a reception problem. I feel that if you are not getting the control channels then something has to be wrong with how the radio is programed or how you are attempting to program it (since you are getting Arlington then we know that it works). I am sorry if this is a dumb question but do you have the TSYS set to P25 Audio? Also since the 600 is kind of the same as a PRO 197, you may call or take it by an Alexandria Radio Shack to see if they will help you program it. The 600 should be a decent scanner for Alexandria/Fairfax County area and although they do not talk a lot in Alexandria, they still talk quite a bit (at least they are right now) and Fairfax talks way lots! I would not get rid of it.

I updated the software on the 600. I also have the TSYS set to P25. Maybe I'll see if the Radio Shack @ King & Duke can take a look at my programming. Thank you for the suggestions.
If there is anyone local with a 500/600 that wants to take a look at my settings - let me know.
