Please get a data channel dump and send it to me at mbvv@wideopenwest.com. I'd like to see at least 60 seconds of data with these packets mixed in if possible.

Pro96Com author.

That's a status update message; displaces one TSBK. Payload is source radio ID and 16 bit status code.

The extended version displaces two TSBKs. Payload is a network ID (WACN + Sysid), source radio ID, target radio ID, and 16 bit status code.

In both cases, I think the source radio ID is the "working" ID which may differ from the real radio ID if the radio has roamed onto a foreign network.

I'll send you the details.

This same unknown packet B3 A4 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 57 A9 2C is showing every 10 minutes all day today. What's up with this?

Being every 30 minutes may be something to do with CWID.

No unknown packets here.

I am running Pro96com on another P25 tower site (#61) control channel now and there are no unknow packets coming up on this site. These 3 sites are all in the same trunked system so I don't think these unknown packets are something to do with CWID message codes.

Inbound P25 packet data info.

These are the packets received by site # 71 of the Saskatchewan PPSRN P25 system on 141.7650 MHz found only in the Raw Data Dump: AD00000047001221C1170826 / AD00000047001221C1006AF0 / AD0000004703FE21F89E068 / AD000000001221C1125883 / AD0000004703FE21E850A971 / AC00000000A00AZ1C102233A6 / AC00000000A00A21C10233A6 / A80000000A00121C102AC91 / 80000040000001221C10256B8 / 80000040000001221C1124489 These showed up over about one hour. These are the messages sent on the input frequency not the TX control channel on 139.3050 MHz. I just wanted to see what data packets the site was receiving.

Another unknown packet on another site.

I got this unknown packet from the control channel for site #61 of Saskatchewan's p25 radio network . B3A400000000000000392444. So each tower site in the system is sending it's own unknown packet.

That's a Manufacturer specific (MA-Com/Harris) packet. It's meaning will be difficult at best to figure out as it would not be part of the P25 spec.

Taking a closer look at thr unknown packets.

Site # 61 B3 / A4=mfg id = Harris / 00x7=? / 39 is Hex of Dec 57 = control channel # 57 / 24=? / 44=? Site # 71 B3 / A4=mfg id = Harris / 00x7=? / 57 is Hex of Dec 87= control channel # 87 / A9=? / 2C=? Site # 72 B3 / A4=mfg id = Harris / 00x7=? / 4E is Hex of Dec 78= control channel # 78 / A2=? / 34=? Octets in the 10th position of these unknown packets are always the Hex of the channel number for that site. Taking a closer look at the octets in the 11th and 12th positions now.

Don't bother. It is a 32 bit CRC of the other ten bytes.

Weird that... Other than identifying the system as a MA/COM (Harris) system, it's an odd packet to transmit. Kinda like the 05 Motorola packet.

Although that would be odd too, since the 16 bit CRC is apparently valid since Pro96Com is passing the packet on to be processed and the 16 bit CRC is checked before that happens.
