Hi

I have a problem with fmp24: when I start a scan, FMP24 didn't stop on frequency with signal, is there a way to force FMP24 to stop on a frequency until no signal?

thanks

What mode are the frequencies? Have you specified the mode in your scanlist for each frequency?

AM or FM

This is the scanlist format

118.3 AM BW=12.5 DELAY=2 Miami Tower

This example forces AM mode for the frequency.

Also the DSD+ switch should be selected for the correct effect.

DSD+: Added raw source audio monitoring modes

The -m<num> command line option and the M/m active keys select one of the five
available monitoring modes:

What kind of signal? Analog or digital voice? What version of FMP24?

Only digital voice.

I'm using DSD FL 2.39.

All FM and yes I specified the mode in the scanlist.

You don't seem to have DSD+ listening for a port or a audio device like vb-cable or something like this

Start FMP24.exe -i2 -o20020 -P0.0 -f141.930 -q1 -a1 -v120 -s1 -g49.6 -_1
Start DSDPlus.EXE -i20020 -f1 -m1 -_15

-o for FMP24 to send on TCP port
-i for DSD+ to listen on TCP port

PS That batch file example should work for you but I would add "timeout /t 5" in between the 2 commands to avoid connection timing issue

What is the DSD+ working folder?

What DSD+ path is FMP24 using?

And you didn't answer the FMP24 version question...

my fmp24 batch file:
FMP24.exe -i1 -o20001 -P60.5 -b12.5 -rc

@slicerwizard:

What is the DSD+ working folder? c:\DSD239

What DSD+ path is FMP24 using? c:\DSD239

And you didn't answer the FMP24 version question... FMP24 2.19

my DSD working fine for decoding and following trunking, it's just FMP24 that didn't stop on active frequency when scanning.

Slicerwizard

Since I joined Fastlane I have been converting my public release scan setups to FL FMP24 and companion DSD.+

I have a weird problem though, all of the setups which have the frequency stated in the batch file (like trunking) or single frequency scan work great and DSD+ gives clear voice audio..

However, all the setups that use FMP24 scanlist , then DSD+ is a sound mess. The scanning function works as it should.

The same setups in public release work fine?

I am guessing I am missing something in the area of FMP24 scanlist (the common thing in this), I have tweaked and twidled but cannot find an improvement.

Do you have any ideas?

Thanks,
Doug.

So you were using FMP before and are now using FMP24?

IIRC, FMP uses a 1 MHz sampling rate while FMP24 uses a 2.4 MHz sampling rate. Is it possible that your computer can't keep up with the higher rate? Can you make and upload a raw audio recording from DSD+ while FMP24 is tuned to a good signal? Maybe some problem in it will be obvious.

Hi Slicerwizard

Thanks for helping.

Ok prob solved, it was a hw issue. I have dongle 1 & 2 each with an antenna. It turns out D1 had a weak signal, so it depended which dongles were selected in the batch whether it worked properly or not. Why it was confusing, some scans were good others bad depending on the signal.

So, I fixed the loose antenna connection on D! and all is good now - D1 & D2 both receiving properly now.so all decoding is good :-)

I guess I should have checked signals more often (DUH)

Anyway, thanks again,
Best regards,
Doug

You said you had -m1 selected for DSD+ ? Try removing the mixed mode types in the FMP24 scanfile so there is only one type. Do this for each type and see if any of them work correctly.

You had quite a mixture in the scanfile, it would be hard to test with such a mixture. Let us know.

Hm, copy the contents of FMP24.cfg into your next reply.

why? because all DSD+ works fine except FMP24 that didn't stop on signal.
If I manually tune a frequency in FMP24, DSD will decode fine.

but I will correct this for just DSD+ and try if this resolve my scan problem.

If FMP24 doesn't know what folder DSD+ is using, the two programs don't communicate properly. And then FMP24 doesn't know if it's scanning stuff that is of interest to DSD+, so it won't stop on traffic...

Hi

I change the name of the folder (DSD239) for the DSD default, but FMP24 doesn't stop on signal.

I also tried just the same mode in the FMP.scanlist (just Nexedge or just DMR) but no succes, FMP24 didn't stop on signal, it just continue to scan.

My suggestion is to

1) create a new folder, place a clean stock set of DSD+/FMP24 files in it (As sent to you) from FL.

2) then place your FMP24 scanlist and startup batch file in it also.

This at least takes away all the confusion about paths, cfg settings and versions so you have a clean baseline to work with.

I would use a simple batchfile like this to start with

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
: Change the device#(I) ppm(P) and gain(g) to suit
Start FMP24.exe -i2 -g49.6 -o20001 -P0.0 -q1 -s1 -_1
timeout /t 5
Start DSDPlus.EXE -i20001 -OM NUL -_3
timeout /t 5
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
You could use this as a copy paste for your batch file - it should work.

Let us know.

Your scanlist format

143.1600 DMR BW=12.5 DELAY=2 CTMThetfordmines
143.3850 DMR BW=12.5 DELAY=2 CTM MT Adstock

Perhaps make the frequency xxx.xxx instead of xxx.xxxx
Remove the BW statement (let fmp auto the bandwidth)
