pardon my ignorance:
i'm not sure where to ask this and all the search terms (P25, NFM, WFM) are too short for this forum's search engine.

to decode -P25ph1 in DSD+, is it better to use NFM or WFM in SDR#? does it matter?
my understanding is that P25 uses C4FM, but that's it; i'm not sure how it all ties in.

i've noticed with NFM that the (SDR#) output signal level is higher, as observed in DSD+'s audio waveform display. although WFM may be producing decoded audio with less breakup (or coincidence or my imagination).

TIA.

Keep in mind that in SDR# you set the bandwidth, so NFM/WFM is not substantailly different other than there is no squelch control in WFM (which is true WFM meant for broadcast FM, not not the NBFM that many call WFM). If you use WFM, lower the BW from 180,000 to something on the order of 8,000 to 16,000 depending on the specific P25 type.

In short, there is no difference if you set the BW and disable the squelch.
