Default Television audio on a scanner

Does anyone know the frequencies to hear the audio from the local TV channels?
I know that Channel 20 WDCA comes up on 511.7625,
and Channel 66 comes up on 943.1500 & 809.3625.
Sometimes Channel 4 WRC comes up on 455.8500 & 450.5500, but I think that's for their units in the field.

Thanks,
Zoom

Zoom,

Check this website, RadioReference. On the left side is a column called common frequencies. In there you will find all the TV channels.

Cool! Thanks

the weird thing is, Channel 20 still comes up better on 511.7625.
511.7500 has more interference. Maybe it's due to my location.

I have NBC 4 WRC, Fox 5 WTTG, ABC 7 WJLA, CBS 9 WUSA programmed into my Yaesu VX-2R. I listen to the news during the evening and during severe weather for updates.

I should store MHz channel 50 and WETA 22 and 26 into my radio too.

I also listen to NRP 88.5, CSPAN 90.1 and 97.1 WASH FM.

Bye.

TV stations use an offset on the audio carriers to avoid simulcasting with other stations on the same freq.

Example Ch 4 in NYC might be +10 khz while Ch 4 in DC might have no offset. There is a plan to this. I saw it once many years ago in an FCC rule book. The offset freq. steps may be diffeent for UHF 25khz or 12.5 khz. Could account for the better copy on .7625.

Default problem on channel 20 corrected

My scanner (BC296D) is defaulted to NFM for frequencies in that range.
I switched it to WFM (like the webpage said) and Channel 20 came through clear on 511.7500.

Also, I didn't realize that channels 2 thru 20 were already pre-programmed into my scanner. :?
