R-75
and too many others to list
Location: Vancouver BC Canada
Ive been monitoring comms in the pacific northwest above and below the the 49 for over
30 years plus.
main interest is milcomms, seeing that our local police service has gone to a non-p25 digital trunked (yes I know that the digital scanners I have wont work..I listen to another Canadian p25 site located not too far away from me and US p25 sites while away) system
M/A-Comm Provoice.
I can receive several US police stations from my location: bellingham /whatcom/Mt Vernon/Skagit/San Juan/Bremerton/Everett/Blaine
Its too bad King county and Seattle city switched over to 800mhz several years ago.
I remember monitoring thier comm here when they operated in the 460mhz band
Oh well.. how times have change and so has how we monitor radio communications
who knows what will happen to KC/SPD when rebanding wave4 is finish in 2008
Can we say 700mhz????
also monitor ship, trains and plane traffic here too

I drove my Mom and Sister up to Vancouver, BC from Seattle.
Took the scenic trip through Surey.
Mom asks, "why is that woman walking around in pink wrestling boots and a short short skirt?" Then my sister says, "Look over there ... why is that woman wearing tank top in September and a real short skirt?"
I said, "I made a mistake." "We're in the red light disctrict."
A hush was felt inside the vehicle.
When they saw the Vancouver City sign they both said, "thank god that's over."
Vancouver is a beatiful city. Surey is filled full of exotic characters.

I live in eastern Pierce county, listening to the normal things - police and fire - as well as railroad, DNR and Mt. Rainier. I'd like to get the DOT but so far don't understand how to do that.
Have been listening to my Bearcat20/20 for a lot of years. Now it seems it's time to update, but I'm afraid I didn't do enough research first; is the BC898t I bought going to do me any good? Always supposing I actually figure out how to program it.

The DOT system is LTR Multinet, and no scanner on the market can track that. However, you can put the frequencies in just like any other conventional channel, though you might miss bits and pieces because they're trunked.

Do you realize this thread is 3-1/2 years old? And your statement? question? doesn't make much sense.

"Well this form has went from dead to deader so how many people are from Washington state in this form and what do you listen to on your scanner, I use mine for police stuff and railroad. so here's everyone chance to sound off, tell us what you use your scanner for and what type of scanners, that you own. I myself have 2 going most of the time. my pro-97 and the 2051, i have 8 scanners but just use these 2 most of the time."
your right. I didn't realize this thread was about saying "Hey!" and talking about where we are and what we use. I'll not bother taking part next time even if it is something quite old. thank you for point it out to me.
