Default Harrison County Renumbering?

Can anyone advise if Harrison County, specifically Bridgeport EMS, has changed their numbering scheme?

I was listening this morning and noticed Company 51, Medic 518 and Medic 519 responded to a call in Bridgeport.

I cannot tell if this is just an effort to separate Bridgeport FD from EMS or possibly another company.

Thanks.

Wink Bridgeport

Bridgeport FD is known and dispatched as Company 2. Thier ambulances are numbered 28 and 29.
They are staffed by full and part time firefighters/ems trained employees. Most likely it was Harrison County EMS AKA Company 61 responding to an overflow call in Bridgeport.

Bridgeport ambulance runs are indeed being dispatched as Company 51. I heard a call to Medbrook, a local clinic, today at about 11 am. The unit responding was 519. So dintimid8or, you are correct. I hadn't been listening much lately so I never caught it.

Lightbulb Bport

The city of bridgeport just got a new ambulance about a month ago. I Never really paid much attention to it as they get a new ones about every two years. As the city grows in size anything is possible.
But you guys are sure they said 51 and not 61?
I will stop by bport this week and find out what is going on for sure with the unit numbers.

Default Command 51

Yes, just a few minutes ago, a unit advised "Command 2, correction, Command 51."

Must be confusing to them also!

Yep, Motorolanut, they said Company 51. They were answering a cardiac call to Medbrook and I distinctly heard Medic 519.

Wink BFD Drama

Ok Long Drumroll Please............................................ ......
Company 2 Bridgeport has been segmented into two parts, and being dispatched as such.
The original Company 2 and now Company 51
This division was to distinguish the Full Time Paid Firepersons from the Volunteer Firepersons..
Using politically correct terms...

This apparently, I say again apparently was at the request of the BFD members and other parties involved.....
I didn't ask specifics of why because I don't want sucked in or being stigmatized with taking sides in thier FD drama...I personally could care less...LOL

Anyhow mystery solved...Rest assured all the Firepersons are still giving 100% effort on the job to the Citizens of Bridgeport.

So enjoy listening!!

Unhappy Soap Opera in Bport

Part 2 with limited commercial interruption.....

Yes, Volunteers remain Company 2, Yellow trucks only
Full Time Fire Fighters are now Company 51, so anything you hear dispatched like company 51 medic 511, 512 or anything with a 51 prefix are paid firefighers/ems. Also 99% only paid FF's do ambulance calls.
And.......The paid FF'rs distinguish themselves with RED ambulances and RED trucks now....

Geeze the drama in a little town with far too much BO tax revenue and little common sense...LMMFAO

sad but true....
