I've made this suggestion before, and it fell like the AIG bailout - let me try this again...
A lot of folks, myself included, have pointed to the Easier to Read manuals to help folks get on their feet with various scanners (there's a whole series of them, not just for the Unidens). However, some folks have also said they had a lot of errors. Fair enough - you do enough of these kinds of articles, errors are bound to creep into them.
I'm willing to set up stubs for each of the manuals, so the errors - and most importantly the corrections - can be cataloged. I've never been able to find the individual's email that put these manuals together, so I haven't been able to report errors myself (for example, the 396 manual has an error in the FTO procedure -
AFAIK knowing timings is no longer needed - it was taken out early in the firmware fixes...)
How about it, folks? Any interest in this? 73 Mike
