Question Discrepancy in Wiki on RS Pro-528 Handheld

Mike, in the Radio Shack scanners listed in the Wiki, for the Pro-528 it shows that at firmware upgrade is required, but if you click on the model number to see the specs and scroll down, it shows that this scanner is not Motorola reband supported. Which is right? ...or am I just confused and don't know the difference?

I don't know one way or the other - if you find out, please fix it. Thanks for pointing this out

I searched the Radio Shack Web site and the Uniden Web site (the 528 was made by Uniden) for evidence that there might be an upgrade available but found none. I have edited the Wiki on this model to be consistent in both places.

The PRO-528 and the desk top version PRO-433 were made by Uniden, Japan. The original Radio Shack description stated they were re-bandable. After a short time, they were discontinued and RS doesn't even acknowedge they ever existed. Uniden, America also disclaims any knowledge of them. So those of us who bought them are left high and dry.
The PRO-160 and 162 are the next version and are in the same boat, although they can be rebanded by entering custom band plans. Thanks Uniden and RS for great customer dis-service.

There were never any firmware updates issued for the 433, 528, 160 or 162 family. Only the 160 and 162 accept custom channel plans for Motorola 800 MHz systems. I've updated all the Wiki pages to accurately reflect the status of the four models.
