I caught an interesting transmission yesterday afternoon on 413.450, analog, no PL/DPL.

The message sounded exactly like an EAM you might here on GHFS (11175/8992). It was a male voice with a long coded message in phonetics. The only other content was "message to follow", but there was no message to follow. There was no callsign heard either.

The signal was very strong from my location in Franklin, so I'm thinking it was originating from the airport. 413.450 (but with a PL of 156.7) is listed in the DB as US Army Crew Alerts out of General Mitchell.

Back in the 80s and 90s that frequency was used for voice pagers at many bases including Edwards AFB and Vandenberg AFB. I should put it back in my radio to see if its still being used here at Nellis AFB.
