french ambulance drivers?

thats what i was hearing on Eau Claire Co dispatch
it was coming over the repeater but everyone could talk over it
from here i couldn't see it on the input of the repeater
anyone else hear this?
it was occurring between 19:00 and 19:35 or so CDT 9/12/18

Without knowing which of the multiple frequencies you mean, it's hard to pin it down, but there are a number of fire and ambulance agencies in Ontario and Quebec that use some of the same frequencies. If it's French, it's more likely to be Quebec, as English is predominant in Ontario.

Go to this page here and type in the frequency and hit Search to see if you can pin down the "ambulance driver" in question.

not sure how to search for the input frequency using that tool but no match is found for our local input
and most probably the output is different than on our local system

it is almost as if it was being piped into the system on the board

If it's French, it's more likely to be Quebec

after watching the propagation maps over the last few hours
i am inclined to think it was just a "good band opening"
having a input freq. and tone coincide isnt impossible
even though i am not conversant in French it seemed to be car/truck to car/truck comms
you could even hear the diesel engine running
a bit later there was some P25 sounding signals coming on the same frequency but i dont think they were over the repeater
