Fill me in a bit....
ACARS are signals sent out by A/C. I can recieve them on a ordinary scanner (like my RS 4300).
I can feed the audio out of the scanner into my computer's sound card.
I see several products out there, each with a nifty little price tag.
For starters what I want to do is develop a complete listing of flights in and around KMCI. I goof around with Flight Simulator. There's a new package coming out that will make KMCI look very real. Using another addon software I've added most of the commercial flights at KMCI. But I know for sure the cargo carriers aren't correctly depicted. I imagine if I get 2 weeks of data I can pretty well fix that.
Does anyone use AirNav FSLivetraffic?
I like listening to the ATC freq when I'm fiddling around the workbench or on the computer. Having a graphical depiction of the nearby traffic would be cool too.
