SDRplay has released new ADS-B (dump1090) software

SDRplay has released cross platform versions of ADS-B (dump1090) specifically for the RSP.

The Windows installer can be found on SDRplay - Windows (2nd blue box on the right hand side which downloads software, user guide and release notes)

Versions for non-Windows platforms can be found on our github repository https://github.com/SDRplay

Just to add - This is the first release of a dump1090 program from SDRplay, and with future upgrades our intention is to eventually unlock the full 12 bit capability of the RSP.

We are gradually doing more software development. Whether we would go the whole way and provide a complete SDR suite of software is something we are considering, but at the moment the capabilities of our software partners are growing so fast that it's not our top priority. One example of this is SDR Console where V3 will be released later this week - currently forecast for 15th March

SDR antennas for a small home

Thanks for the info...i just bought one for $145.00 and am looking for a small antenna...what would you recommend for inside your home?

For frequencies above 30 MHz go for a Discone - there are some examples of what HRO sell on SDRplay SDRplay RSP | RSP - Radio Spectrum Processor SDR Receiver - if it's for receive only, don't pay more than you need for one designed for handling lots of RF power. Also consider asking people on the SDRplay facebook group which now has over 2000 users, many of whom are using Discone antennas. https://www.facebook.com/groups/sdrplay/

For HF (30MHz and below), some people like active antennas - there's a lot of debate about all the problems of electrical noise with an indoor antenna. lengths of wire are still a favourite. if there's anyway to get the wire outside so much the better. You may want to add a 9:1 balun but to be honest it's not that critical for receive only.
