KDTW Webcam Question

I've been watching the live cam for KDTW, and trying to figure out exactly where the camera is located. The description says it shows the threshold of RW 22L, but to me it looks like the planes are taking off on 22L from the intersection of RW 9L, not at the end of 22L which you'd expect. This only gives them 1/2 the runway length to use for takeoff. Can anyone check this and let me know what you think?

It looks like the camera is located across I 94, possibly on the roof of the Four Points hotel. Just a guess, but the angle is about right based on what I can see with Google Earth. The vehicle traffic is Goddard Road, and I wouldn't be surprised if you see trains on occasion.

It's definitely showing the end of RW 22L though.

Mike's guess is correct, the webcam is located on the roof of the Sheraton Four Points Hotel on Wickham Rd. The cam is just about 2 miles from the control tower, so it is zoomed in quite a ways. Because of the tight zoom, the ground area view at the airport is somewhat "distance distorted".

Boy, I was sure off there! I can see now what I was looking at. I'm guessing we don't see I-94 since the camera angle is above it?

Yes, the zoomed in area cuts off I-94 just below the lens view. You can see a street light at the very bottom of the live video near the right side. The base of that street light is just back from the break-down lane on I-94 east bound.
