Sounds like TDMA when listening to the raw channel audio(the good ole Nextel helicopter) and decodes as phase 2 when in op25. At least at the Orange Beach and Magnolia Springs towers.

Wow! CodePlug... Way to go, sir. Once I get my Uniden 536-HP back from service, I will add these in and keep tabs.

Thanks for your update!

Default Homewood Fire Department on AFRN

I was searching the AFRN system and picked up Homewood Fire on TG:2689. It wasn't there long, but it was long enough to hear E-2 go to Samford.

I used to hear Medelight and ALEA on this network. Are they not on the system anymore? Also there are talk groups for the Forest Service/Game Warden, State Net and HEAR, but have never heard traffic on these

Hello , I have a Radio Shack Pro 651 and I use ARC500 software to program it with.
If I enter these new frequencies under Trunking (P25AUTO) should that pick up these freqs. ????
I understand that it more than likely want pick up any Phase 2 but I will be trying to take advantage of any that it will .

I hear MedFlight when they come to Birmingham or when they go to the LifeSaver base at Carraway for fuel. Other than that, I don't hear them. ALEA was a simulcast on the TECH channel for testing.

Hello dave911, TNX for information. I do pick up the Med Flights at times but never noticed what Frequency they were on. I have a long list programed in my scanner . I am sure some may not be any good but some do work..
If it seems that any of the above listed 700 Mhz frequencies are good let me know if you can .
TNX again

Default Mobile County System

I'm copying over this data at the risk of duplicating threads, but I'm not sure anyone is reading that thread. Anyway, I'm in the area for a few days and brought my 436HP and laptop along. Using the Analyze feature of the scanner and ARC536 Virtual Control I've found this information for the system.

There is no activity on the system, but the system is active as far as having working control channels and sending data.

I'm not even sure that this is part of the statewide system, but it seems to fit in at least in terms of frequency range.

System ID is 000ah--010
Site ID is 0010
WACN is 927f-4h
NAC is shown as Ah.

Frequencies from the FCC data base, as displayed in the 436HP. These frequencies are listed for three sites in the county, so are the main simulcast sites. There are three other sites with different frequencies, which are most likely to be fill in sites.

0769.256200
0769.506200
0769.756200
0770.006200

0772.881200
0773.131200

I knew it was a Harris system, but I didn't know that the CC rotated among all of the channels. The two I listed at the bottom of my post are the ones I can confirm via listening. The rest of the information is from the Analyze on the 436HP.

I'm going to guess that it's at least Phase 2 capable, even if they don't end up running Phase 2 all of the time.

Theoretically at least, Harris and Motorola P25 systems should be interoperable. A lot of that will depend on the configuration I guess. In a truly statewide system, if a foreign subscriber finds itself in Mobile and out of range of its home system, then it should be able to affiliate with the Mobile system.

For example, if a Medstar unit does a transport to Mobile and can't hit a tower in Baldwin County, it should be able to affiliate with the Mobile system and talk back to Baldwin County Central.

The technical capability exists in P25 systems, but it depends on if everyone decides to use one set of TG and UIDs statewide so that there is no duplication. Of course that depends on systems cooperating with each other.

I don't know anything about the politics of that to even guess if that is going to happen.

I hope that the DB Admin for Alabama will think this information is worth starting a new page for.

The Mobile system is active today with audio testing on TG 9914. It's a prerecorded voice used for testing and adjusting audio quality. I've heard it before in when other systems were being built out.

9913 active as well, but with muddy audio. Not encrypted, though.

9914 might be a radio technician TG.
