Here are some frequencies that are (or have been) licensed for Geneva. Some are the same as are listed in the RRDB and library and some are expired but possibly reissued/licensed again - possibly when they switched to NXDN.

WNVG881 / GENEVA, CITY OF <<<<<<<<-----
155.01000000 analog / NXDN
153.98000000
154.65000000
155.19000000
155.64000000
159.18750000

Other possibilities....

WQWT637 / GENEVA COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY
155.93250000 analog / NXDN
153.84500000 analog / NXDN

WQUZ468 / GENEVA, CITY OF
153.97250000 analog / NXDN
156.12750000 analog / NXDN

WPJT684 / GENEVA, COUNTY OF
155.01000000 analog
155.19000000
156.15000000
159.15000000

WPGY310 / GENEVA, CITY OF
154.16000000

WPFS278 / GENEVA, CITY OF
153.75500000
155.04000000

KNHZ706 / GENEVA, COUNTY OF
453.60000000 analog?

The easiest method is to use Whistler TRX-1 EZ Scan software for programming the radio.

Hopefully, you've got that loaded and running... it's the first thing you should do with the new radio to allow you to update the frequency database to be current along with other things.

Once you have that working, you can create a configuration and import everything for Geneva County.

Then, if you want, you can add each of the unique frequencies above as conventional objects.

Just someplace to start.

Some areas are fairly slow/quiet -- I'm not familiar with that area. It may take a while before you hear anything.

There are a couple of things to try - if you haven't already....

1. Enable recording on all of the frequencies you have programmed. This way, you can allow the radio to just scan 24/7 and, if anything becomes active, the conversation, etc. will be recorded on the SD card. The next day, you can look for any captured activity and play it back ('Fn' then '6').

2. Perform a 24 hour (plus or minus) limit search ('Fn' then '5') of 150-160 Mhz and see if anything is detected. This can be recorded as well with the right settings. Optionally: you can program the search to only stop on digital signals (DMR, NXDN, P25, etc.) but you may not want to do this right away - if the things you are searching for aren't digital, of course you won't capture anything.

use this link to upload & search frqs. for your TRX-1

That's an option - just be aware that:

  • just because an FCC license is showing emission types like DMR or NXDN doesn't mean they are actually using it
  • there are lots of systems/channels using some of these digital modes and their license doesn't reflect those modes.
  • for at least one license in my home area, the license (just renewed) says they are DMR but in fact they are using NXDN...
  • most DMR and NXDN is business (but there are some public safety users) - business systems typically require you to be fairly close to receive them (with the exception of "regional" fleet resellers)
