Default west alabama

does anyone know about west Alabama? my scanner does not pick up anything in this area.my older sanner would pick up Sumter,Choctaw...etc... then it went quiet. my new scanner i bought thinking they went digital,but,i still do not hear them.

What scanner are you using.
I have a older scanner .that receives better than the newer ones.

Could have changed modulation.
Ie , mototubro ,nexedge, southern Linc.
If they have went to any of the above. Out of look.
Could be tmda phase 2 . Possibilities are endless.
Antenna problems, location.
Lots of research and time to figure it out.

i have a whistler ws 1088... it picks up really good. but for some reason,i can not hear anything in Alabama. it is digital has p25 and dmr... it should be picking up something.

indoor . but,even with this. it has great range. for it to not pick up anything .... i just do not get it.

from where i live i can easily pick up lamar county ,ms.... so i should be hearing something... it makes me think they clanged their frequencies.
