I Am Having A Problem With The Programming Of A Kenwood Tk-3180, I Am Using The Kpg-89d Version Software.

I Am Reprogramming The Tk-3189 Radio's For The County Agency I Work For, The Company We Were Using We Chose To Move Away From. Problem Is They Password-protected The Radios, Insuring That We Would Have To Go Back To Them For Any Future Programming.

Does Anyone Know The Master Password I Can Use To Reprogram The Radio? I Had It Once Before Many Years Ago For The Tk-270 But I Have Since Lost It. If Anyone Could Please Give Me Any Insight It Would Be Very Grateful.

Thank You In Advance,

Andrew

There is no master password for that radio. The newer ones cannot be read or programmed like the older ones that could not be read but could be overwritten.
If you can prove ownership it could be sent back to Kenwood & cleared.

Well I figured something out- and this goes for anyone else who may run into this problem.

I re-wrote over the programming and it fixed the password problem- no more password! I already knew what was on the radio, so no problem losing any information.
