Does anybody know the power-on keypad trick to turn on the white led when powering
up the radio (flashlight feature) ?

came across it once, but don't remeber the buttons to hold in when you power up the vx2

Hi BOB,

I'm not sure of the power-up trick. Set menu item #20 (EMG S) to "BEAM" then when you enable the emergency function the white light stays illuminated until you disable it.

Hold down [MD] duing power up, this is the segment check but it will do what you want.
