Two weeks ago I came across a Regency L64C low band crystal controlled transciever at one of the local junk shops, er, discount store. Since it was priced dirt cheap and I lack the self control to pass up any cheap piece of radio equipment, I bought it. It worked fine until today when I hooked it up and it would no longer transmit. It still receives fine, though.
I opened it up and probed around with a frequency counter and a DMM and realized two things. First of all, the relay still switches over when pressing the PTT and the final amplifier is still getting power. Judging by the reading on my frequency counter, the TX oscillator is not oscillating and the RX oscillator continues to oscillate, even while attempting to transmit.
If anybody has a schematic for this radio I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm also open to any suggestions on how to determine what is wrong.
Thanks in advance!
