what do you guys think of this radio. its a 2meter /440 radio, Receive range is: 500 kHz to 999 MHz?
going to use it to talk on 2 meter mostly, but do you guys think it would work well to listen to shortwave and CHP? How the speaker level sound like?

Anything by Vertex and Yaesu in my opinion are great radios. With that said, i would go with the Yaesu FT-60. Its a bit "meatier." I love mine. Just a suggestion to look into.

i Just like the vx-2r because its not too bulky and fits in the pocket well

I have had my vx2r for a year or so and I love it
if you get one get the vx2 commander software makes things a lot easier

how the sound of the vx-2r? is it pretty loud? just wondering, because im going to use it kind of like a scanner sometimes.
