I am looking to take my Kenwood TM-D700A and connect to my PC possibly?

I spoke with John at coastal chip and the old TNC to keyboard interface that they made is not made no more. I want to have my D700 run my APRS but with a key board for easer typing and not the mic. If I can find a recommendation on software and how to connect a keyboard that I can use to do this with please?

The Coastal Chipworks keyboard interface was really slick. Unfortunately, John was never able to apply that idea to the TM-D710. With the TM-D700 long out of production, it doesn't surprise me that he no longer offers his interface any more.

Running APRSISCE/32 or YAAC (Yet Another APRS Client) may be your only option. Both programs can run on a Windows tablet. MicroCenter has some 7" and 8" full-blown Windows tablets in their WinBook line that should work fine for this application. You need a tablet that runs the full Windows OS, not the tablet version of Windows. You will also need a true USB port so you can use a USB-to-RS232 converter to talk to the D710.
