Anyone successfully made or bought a cable to connect a TH-F6A directly to a laptop mic/speaker port for digital work? I'm assuming the use of VOX for PTT so just need the two paths of audio. Is this possible without using something like a Signalink?

I would not use VOX for digital; use a relay, and key the radio like an external mic. Any setup for packet should show how to do so, I believe there is one in the owner's manual.

Remember that you have to set the mode for the sp/mic jack, in the menus.

FWIW, the SignaLink uses what is basically a VOX circuit to key the radio when it detects sound energy coming from the computer. By extrapolation, one could assume that it would be possible to use the VOX feature in the radio to accomplish the same thing.

To the OP, what digital mode are you planning to use?
