I'm trying to determine the correct antenna port configuration for a radio that I have and all I can find in the manual is that it is based on "specific model" purchased. The best information is that I have a 706MK2G 15.

I'm trying to determine if I need to connect the UHF and VHF antennas through a multicoupler to the ANT1 and then an HF antenna to ANT2 - or is it some other configuration??

Any help is appreciated.

I have the old first generation 706 and my antenna ports are labelled HF / VHF. You could try hooking a dummy load or antenna to each port and test with a watt meter to see which band reports to each output.

ANT 1 is combined VHF/UHF or 2m and 70cm or anything above about 60MHz. ANT 2 is HF or anything from a few hundred KHz to about 60MHz.

If you have seperate VHF and UHF antennas you would need a diplexer to combine them before running to ANT 1.
