New TM281

Greetings, I got a new Kenwood 281 to replace my old Yaesu FT1500. It seems like a nice radio. I'll get years of use from it. With that said, I'm trying to figure out a fast way to switch between MR channels and weather channels. The 1500 had a seperate weather channel bank and you could switch back and forth with a push of the mic. MR button. Its very convenient. And once it's on the weather, you can run a scan up/down to get to the ones in other cities when you travel.

So, whats my option now? The only way I can think of is to go to the single Calling channel. Or to have the 162 weathers locked out in the regular memory bank....not very quick or easy....

Having the weather in its own bank seems like a very simple and good thing for mfg's to include.

Hate to post in a two year-old thread but in case anyone's interested HRO has a Black Friday sale on the TM-281 for only $124.95 delivered to your door (good through 11-30-2015).

This is a great price on this radio :)

Definitely is. It's a workhorse of a radio and that's a great price - I've seen them posted on QRZ used for more than that. Almost tempting to buy one at that price just to have an extra.
